Still not much going on in the market....slow start - and still in Aspen. My day yesterday, trying to fly back home - eager to see my husband and kitty + get going again with business...
Plane crash at the Aspen Airport put a stop to that plan and I saw the whole thing through the portal of the plane that I was on. The plane hit, then rolled, then it turned into a huge ball of fire - then a big black cloud - until firetrucks hosed it down. It was eery to see.
It's a miracle that anyone survived...There were only 3 on board, a pilot, a co-pilot and another co-pilot flying as a passenger. Apparently the cabin was insulated from fire and smoke - so the co-pilots survived, but the pilot died from blunt trauma.
It was extremely windy, although some speculate that if it had been a different aircraft, other than the 1994 Challenger, they may have stood a better chance dealing with crosswinds - who knows? Not to mention pilot error and judgement...
